Dedicated in 2007, the Sam Baugh Indoor Practice Facility and Cox Field features a 71,300 square-foot climate-controlled practice area enclosing an 80-yard field, with a regulation 52-yard width, and two full end zones. The Jane and John Justin Foundation of Fort Worth and the Cox family of Midland funded the facility named in honor of the TCU football legend "Slingin' Sammy" Baugh. The practice field is named for the Cox family: the late John L. Cox of Midland, a prominent West Texas oilman; his wife, Maurine Cox; and their son, TCU Trustee and oilman J. Kelly Cox '77.
