DESCRIPTION:Foundations in Teaching (FiT) is designed to support faculty an
 d educators at all stages of their teaching careers—whether you are a gr
 aduate student preparing to teach for the first time\, an adjunct balancin
 g multiple courses\, or a full-time faculty member seeking to refine your 
 instructional approach. Rooted in the principles of Small Teaching: Everyd
 ay Lessons from the Science of Learning (2nd ed.) by James Lang\, FiT offe
 rs practical\, research-based strategies that can be applied across discip
 lines. The workshops emphasize a “small teaching” approach\, focusing 
 on incremental yet powerful changes that enhance student learning and enga
 gement.\n\n \n\nFormat: FiT follows a flipped model\, meaning you'll compl
 ete about 3 hours of pre-work for each workshop to build foundational know
 ledge before each session.  During the in-person sessions\, you will exper
 ience hands-on activities and collaborative problem-solving.\n\n \n\nDates
