About this Event
Charles Doran
Professor of Mathematics, University of Alberta
Starting from the problem of deforming tetrahedra while preserving the areas of their faces, we will follow our noses and discover a beautiful path to elliptic curves, K3 surfaces, and beyond. Time permitting, we will discuss motivations and applications in physics. This talk is designed to be broadly accessible to graduate students. All are welcome.
