How do we integrate diverse voices and foster learning conditions that allow students to critically engage with diversity and equity?

In this webinar, participants will take a closer look at the Human Dimension in Dee Fink’s Taxonomy of Significant Learning to discuss learning outcomes and assessment options. Consequently, participants will explore how to integrate diverse voices in course materials, engage students with these materials with cultural humility, and explore community guidelines for critical and authentic conversations.

 

Presenter Bio:

Dr. Mascha N. Gemein is an Associate Professor of Practice and the University Center for Assessment, Teaching & Technology at the University of Arizona. With a background in cultural anthropology and American Indian Studies, Dr. Gemein approaches her work in educational development with a strong emphasis on inclusion and equity. She specializes in course development and syllabus composition, evidence-based teaching practice, intercultural learning, and inclusive excellence. Dr. Gemein teaches graduate courses and coordinates the 10-credit Certificate in College Teaching. As a former Hispanic Serving Institution Fellow, she now serves on the steering committee of the Inclusive Leadership Institute and is a mentor and regular presenter in the annual Culturally Responsive Curriculum Development Institute.
