Join the TCU AddRan College of Liberal Arts and the Department of Economics for the State of the Economy Speaker Series, an engaging lunchtime event exploring the economic issues shaping our communities, businesses and future. Lunch will be provided as this year's featured speaker, TCU alumna Diane Ellis ’88, senior managing director at IntraFi, presents "The Future of Banking in Texas: Consolidation, Competition, and Opportunity."

Drawing on decades of experience in banking policy and financial regulation, Ellis will examine the forces driving consolidation in the Texas banking industry, the competitive challenges and opportunities facing financial institutions, and what these trends mean for the state's economic future.

Prior to joining IntraFi, Ellis served as Director of the Division of Insurance and Research at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), where she led the agency's efforts related to deposit insurance, banking risk assessment, economic research and financial data analysis. She also served on the Executive Council of the International Association of Deposit Insurers and began her career as a bank examiner and financial analyst at the FDIC.

Ellis earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from TCU, a Master of Public Policy from George Mason University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

The State of the Economy Speaker Series has previously welcomed distinguished speakers including economics professor John Harvey, Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker and former Fort Worth Director of Economic Development Robert Sturns. The event provides an opportunity to hear from leading experts while networking with students, faculty, alumni and members of the community.
