Against All Odds: Stories of Grit and Determination is a speaker series for TCU students, alumni and guests hosted by the Neeley School of Business Office of Inclusive Excellence. As the first of its kind at Neeley, the series is designed to amplify the voices of diverse business leaders in the global community as they share proven strategies for turning barriers into breakthroughs.

This installment of Against All Odds is powered by Bank of America and will feature Maria Walker as she shares her remarkable story of overcoming challenges as a Hispanic first-generation college student on her path to success as an accomplished board member and retired senior financial executive with more than 30 years of experience spanning various industries.

At KPMG, she served as senior partner and global lead partner of private equity. Most notably, as a founding partner and CFO of Patient Square Capital, a healthcare-focused private equity firm, Walker and her co-founders successfully raised $3.9 billion, marking the largest private equity fund ever raised by a first-time fund manager.
