Resurface: TCU Studio Art BFA Thesis Exhibition

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, The Art Galleries at TCU will be unable to welcome public audiences in-person for any exhibitions or events this spring and until further notice. We will be offering “by-appointment only” viewings for current TCU students, faculty, and staff only for both Moudy Gallery and Fort Worth Contemporary Arts. Email us at to make an appointment.

TCU Studio Art BFA Thesis Exhibition featuring Taylor Cuozzo, Brittany Murray, and Adam Verhelle

Moudy Gallery, Texas Christian University

April 26 - 30, 2021

The Art Galleries at TCU present Resurface, the 2021 BFA Studio Exhibition, featuring work by Taylor Cuozzo, Brittany Murray, and Adam Verhelle. Resurface will be a gathering of paintings and sculptural pieces and will be on view at Moudy Gallery from April 26 – 30, 2021.

Join the graduating BFA candidates for Resurface as they present their capstone exhibition, which is the culmination of their time at TCU, including a semester that turned into producing work during a historic lockdown. The work displayed includes large-scale paintings and sculptures and will showcase the unfaltering nature of these artists and their work.

As a TCU community we experienced effects, good or bad, from the coronavirus pandemic. The collective candidates felt the weight of those effects when last spring they were pulled from their studios and sent to zoom. Resurface is their rise out of the lockdown while still navigating through the limited contact allowed with the artistic community.

Taylor Cuozzo grew up in New Jersey and is a part of a large family. She is currently a BFA candidate at Texas Christian University as she pursues her painting practice in the Studio Art department. Her work is influenced by her Christian faith and the environment. As a painter she explores landscapes influenced by the emotional connection humanity feels when immersed in the vast environment. Her immersive large-scale paintings are a place of rest and peace.

Brittany Murray lives and works in Dallas, Texas and is currently pursuing her BFA at Texas Christian University. Murray makes work that investigates modern society’s obsession for material goods while maintaining no commitment to materials or techniques in her own studio.

Adam Verhelle was born and raised in Jacksonville, Texas and he is currently enrolled in Texas Christian University as a Studio Art BFA major. His work is focused around technical and material investigation as he uses the paint in his work to create sculptural form. Driven by his impulsiveness he focuses on a multitude of different subjects with every piece becoming an obsession.
