Emily Lund, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, Associate Dean for Research

Her research focuses on language and literacy development in children who are deaf and hard of hearing and use cochlear implants or hearing aids. Her work has been funded by NIH/NIDCD and the ASHFoundation.

Krystal Werfel, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, Director of Research Participants Services Core

Boys Town National Research Hospital

Center for Childhood Deafness, Language, and Learning

Her research focuses on identifying early predictors of literacy for children with hearing loss and designing and optimizing early intervention that may prevent later literacy difficulties. 

Lisa Fitton, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, Assistant Professor

University of South Carolina

Arnold School of Public Health, Communication Sciences and Disorders

Her expertise is in quantitative methodological design, focusing on the implementation of rigorous statistical models within smaller sample sizes to improve the quality of inferences in research, and in bilingual language and reading development.
