The Bob Schieffer College of Communication, through its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee, is excited to welcome Jim Gray, former Principal Chief of Osage Nation to join us in a difficult conversation about media representation, storytelling, and Osage nation, inspired by the success of the recent film Killers of the Flower Moon. As a descendant of one of the victims of the Osage murders that inspired the film and as the Principal Chief who oversaw comprehensive restoration of Osage sovereignty, Mr. Gray will share his unique insights about how media and storytelling have powerful impacts on our world. Join us as he and Haylee Chiariello (Journalism '24, President of the Native and Indigenous Student Association) guide us through this difficult conversation! Difficult Conversations is a new college-led initiative that fosters meaningful conversations on challenging topics to help us grow in our ability to discuss issues related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
