Embodied Perception: MFA Thesis Exhibition of Dario Bucheli
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, The Art Galleries at TCU will be unable to welcome public audiences in-person for any exhibitions or events this fall and until further notice. We will be offering “by-appointment only” viewings for current TCU students, faculty, and staff only for both Moudy Gallery and Fort Worth Contemporary Arts. While we are sad not to have you with us in person, we will make sure you have lots of virtual and digital options to engage with the work of our students, faculty and guest artists. The Art Galleries at TCU will continue to showcase high quality art and artistic practice by contemporary artists.
Thank you,

Embodied Perception
The MFA Thesis Exhibition of TCU Painting Graduate Student Dario Bucheli
Moudy Art Gallery, Texas Christian University
September 21 - 28, 2020
The Art Galleries at TCU presents Embodied Perception, Dario Bucheli’s MFA Thesis Exhibition. Embodied Perceptionwill be on view at Moudy Gallery from September 21 - 28, 2020, with an online gallery and other digital materials coming soon.
Embodied Perceptionconsists of a series of paintings of pictures of paintings, as they are experienced on the internet. They demonstrate a commitment to traditional painterly considerations, and propose a trajectory for addressing contemporary issues relevant to the practice of painting.
Embodied Perceptionresponds to the increasing number of contemporary artists who share and consume photographs of artwork through social media and other internet platforms. It invites the viewer to reflect on the necessary aspects of perceptual experience that leads to a thorough understanding of a painted image—and the effect that networked technologies have on this process.
Dario Salvatore Bucheli was born in a small industrial city in northern Mexico, he currently lives and works in the United States. He received his BA in Studio Art, with a concentration in painting from the University of Dallas in 2016, and is now an MFA candidate in Studio Art at Texas Christian University.
