About this Event
2805 S University Drive, Fort Worth TX
Enrique Chagoya will speak about his art, focusing on an artistic practice he has called “reverse anthropology.” Drawing from his experiences living on both sides of the US-Mexico border, Chagoya’s paintings and prints are populated by secular, popular, and religious icons drawn largely from the ancient Americas, Latin America, and the United States. Chagoya will discuss how he juxtaposes these seemingly harmless icons in unexpected ways, highlighting the ongoing nature of cultural clashes.
