“How to Pursue Funding from Mission Agencies”- DOE, DoD, USDA/NIFA, USGS, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and other Agencies

This 2-hour workshop will cover how mission agencies are different from fundamental research agencies, how to identify and analyze funding opportunities, how to talk to Program Officers, and how to write white papers and full proposals.  

Workshop Leader: Lucy Deckard established her consulting firm, Academic Research Funding Strategies, LLC in 2010. She works with universities and faculty across the U.S., helping them develop the skills to compete successfully for research funding. She has extensive experience helping to prepare proposals to a wide range of funders, including NSF, NIH, DoD, DARPA, DOE, DoED, NASA and USDA.
