This session will focus on the concept of microaggressions. Specifically, the concept will be defined and explained utilizing relevant research and findings. The different microaggression subtypes will be identified and delineated in order to help participants identify when a microaggression is being communicated. Participants will also content related to the psychological, behavioral and cognitive impact of microaggressions on an individual. Finally, explicit instruction on how to interrupt microaggressions will be provided using a variety of strategies and interactive opportunities.
