Ms. Lucille Contreras will share the story and mission of the Texas Tribal Buffalo Project, of which she is the CEO and Founder. The project aims to restore buffalo to Texas to renew the health and vitality of the Texas Plains and all the people who live here. As Ms. Contreras puts it, “Bison are inherently indigenous stewards of the land. We also want to be able to provide a space where Native people can live on traditional Indigenous Texas Tribal lands, a place to reconnect with our Buffalo relatives—physically, culturally, and more.”
