A glance behind the scenes. The master class format is an excellent way to broaden and deepen the knowledge and understanding of music. Initiated by Franz Liszt as he always taught in a master class format. We get together to gain insight into the music through the wisdom of our guest artists. They advise on how to play the performed work, often demonstrating passages, focusing on the finer details of tone color, articulation, phrasing, and sprinkling all this with anecdotes about the composer and the stylistic period. The value of a master class is for the benefit of those who desire to learn and improve, as the master comes with experience, personal ideas about interpretation, and profound comprehension of music.
