TCU Online: Customizing Your Course Homepage Widgets
The course homepage is the first thing your students see when they open your course, perhaps before they have attended class. Make a great first impression by personalizing the homepage of your course with widgets that introduce yourself, your course, and communicate with students. Go beyond the default homepage setup to provide easy access to relevant information students might need at their fingertips, such as access to Librarians & research tools, content, playlists, social media feeds, and more.
In this workshop, instructors will learn how to customize their course homepages with widgets, create custom widgets, and modify existing widgets.
By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:
- Explore the available widgets.
- Evaluate which type of widgets and homepage layouts would work best in your courses.
- Select widgets and homepage layouts that align with the outcomes of your course.
- Create custom widgets and homepage layouts that align with the outcomes of your course.
This workshop meets Koehler Center Outcomes 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, and 1.4.
