About this Event
2901 Stadium Drive, Fort Worth, TX 76109
The poster session is open to undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, faculty, and staff in all fields. The goal of this event is to promote communication between students, postdocs, faculty and staff in different disciplines, give them the opportunity to present on-going and completed research in a friendly and professional setting, and share the outstanding research and creative activity being conducted at TCU. Viewer’s Choice Awards will be given for Undergraduate and Graduate Student and Postdoctoral poster presentations along with other door prizes. We also encourage recipients of the 150th College Grants for Research & Creative Activities recipients to present their work at this event. Light refreshments will be also be provided.
Registration:
Please register (https://tcu.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_eM3xCaolaQEpAXQ) if you are planning to present a poster at the event. The registration deadline is Monday, September 11, 2023 at 12:00 pm. Students, postdoctoral scholars, faculty & staff are not required or expected to have fully “fleshed out” or complete research projects to present. This represents a wonderful learning and development opportunity for students and a great mechanism for getting productive feedback.
Guidelines for Printing Posters:
Poster size must not exceed 42’’ x 56’’ (actual poster size may be limited to printer/plotter capability). Free poster templates (in PowerPoint format) can be found (https://cis.tcu.edu/default.asp?f=media-production&sf=graphics-production&p=research-posters) (you are not required to use these templates or this service to print). Most posters cost about $50 - $80 to print. However, many departments may have funding available to support printing costs or poster printers available for use in house. Please ask your department/college if funding or a poster printer is available. If no poster printing resources are available within your department/college you may contact Dr. Arthur Busbey (see below) to request assistance printing your poster. Alternatively, limited financial support for printing posters at the TCU Center for Instructional Services (CIS) will be provided. Contact Mr. Alberto Argueta at alberto.argueta@tcu.edu (subject line: Poster Printing Support) to request financial assistance for poster printing services at TCU CIS (requests must be submitted by Tuesday, September 12, 2023). Please inquire about poster size limitations, poster submission processes and file type for submitting poster (i.e. PDF version) to ensure that you receive the final product prior to presentation.
Dr. Arthur Busbey, Department of Geological Sciences, has graciously agreed to assist in printing posters. Please contact Dr. Busbey (a.busbey@tcu.edu) early for information regarding poster size limitations and format for submitting file.
