 over the last few weeks as the United States ends its longest war overseas
  with the crushing resurgence of the Taliban in the country. For those of 
 us in the United States\, we may be asking\, ‘how did this happen?’ Re
 sponding to the urgency of the moment\, professors Hanan Hammad\, Hadi Hos
 ainy\, and Randa Tawil invite the public to come together to learn about t
 he historical\, social\, and political context surrounding the current cri
 sis in Afghanistan. Each professor will talk briefly and then we will open
  up for questions and discussion.
