What happens when one woman’s drive to break generational cycles becomes a movement?

Trailblazers follows Ricquel Archer, a proud first-generation college graduate, who founded Create & Collaborate, a nonprofit redefining the college experience for underrepresented youth. Through mentoring, dorm furnishing, leadership programs, and life skills training, C&Co supports students far beyond acceptance letters — helping them graduate, lead, and uplift their communities.

From humble beginnings in a Boys & Girls Club gym to impacting over 80 students across 27 universities, this documentary weaves together the deeply personal journeys of C&Co students and alumni. Darius, Kiaya, Maddie, and Hailey show how community, guidance, and confidence shape a new legacy.

With powerful testimonials, raw archival footage, and real-time transformation, Trailblazers is a tribute to resilience, identity, and empowerment. As these young leaders create their own seat at the table, they redefine what success, family, and future look like — for generations to come.

Trailblazers is  a production of the TCU Department of Film, Television and Digital Media, and is a part of TCU's First Gen Week celebrations! This premiere event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 6pm with light refreshments served, and the screening will begin shortly after. Stick around after the film for a panel discussion with the cast and crew.
