Kelli Cox was, ironically, a criminal justice minor at the University of North Texas when she disappeared in 1997. James Marquart graduated with a Ph.D. In Sociology from Texas A&M University while working as a prison guard. He taught and held administrative offices at UNT, Lamar University, and the University of Texas Dallas before joining the TCU Criminal Justice Department in 2023. He is former President on The Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences and has published many papers and books focused on the incarcerated and the experiences of victims. Most recently he's woven that research into stories of true crime.
