Website launch - - "Digging" with artists Brigitte Jurack, Chris Powell & Kiran Sattar

The Art Galleries at TCU are pleased to launch a new exhibition website, "Digging at 32 42’34.58”N and -97 21’46.16’’W" featuring the work of artists Brigitte Jurack, Chris Powell & Kiran Sattar.

The exhibition "Digging at 32 42’34.58”N and -97 21’46.16’’ was originally scheduled to open at Fort Worth Contemporary Arts in August 2020. Artists Jurack and Sattar had planned to travel from England to complete artist residencies at the gallery and make new work in collaboration with Powell and TCU students. But with travel plans foiled by the coronavirus pandemic, "Digging" moved online and the collaborative work of the artists now inhabits a virtual landscape that responds to TCU’s geographic location.

Engaging with personal concerns about climate change, sustainability, environmental ethics and the global reach of the COVID-19 pandemic, the artists plan to work with the terrain of TCU. The "Digging" website will evolve and change over the next year, through a process of collaboration, making and response between the artists.

Join us at the start of this virtual exhibition as the artists talk about their individual studio practices and their plans for collaboration and digging together throughout 2021.
